Sports Days Program

Project Nambo Udik believes in the power of physical activity to promote well-being. Through our Sports Days, we encourage kids to stay active, engage in team sports, and learn the value of exercise. In addition to fun sports activities, we also educate children about healthy eating habits and the importance of maintaining a balanced lifestyle. These events help children develop teamwork, discipline, and a positive attitude towards their health.

According to UNICEF, more than 7 million children under five in Indonesia are stunted, and over 2 million suffer from severe wasting. These numbers show how urgent it is to promote healthy habits from a young age.

That’s why I started organizing Sports Days, to help children understand the importance of staying active and living healthily. Alongside fun games and team activities, we introduce the concept of “4 Sehat 5 Sempurna”, which teaches the basics of balanced nutrition: carbohydrates, proteins, vegetables and fruits, milk, and water as the “perfect fifth.”

Through interactive lessons and real examples, the children learn how food and exercise work together to keep them strong and energized. It’s more than just a day of sports. It’s about building awareness of healthy living in a way that’s simple, joyful, and easy to remember.

We’re so glad to see how these small steps can make a difference, and we’re excited to keep expanding this initiative — village by village — to help more children grow healthier and happier.
